I’m super happy to announce that, together with Timof Comics we’re starting a Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing of the second volume of Anubis artbook – “Anubis. Thin Places 2”. The campaign will launch on 3rd of December 2023 and last for two months.

For those of you who don’t know: Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from film, games, and music to art, design, and technology. It’s a totally safe and efficient way to make projects like our artbook to come true. This is how we published the first artbook 🙂

The first volume of the artbook “Anubis. Thin Places” was delivered to our backers in 2020. We would like to thank everyone who supported us then, we hope that you are still with us and the second volume will not disappoint your expectations. We are publishing it in the same formula as the first artbook, with completely new content and almost twice the volume.

“Anubis. Thin Places” vol 2. is a collection of 219 high-quality reproductions of paintings created in the years 2021 – 2023 (to be exact, September 2023). For comparison: volume 1 contained 117 reproductions. The artbook has a hardcover, format: 28 x 21 cm (11.02” x 8.27” ), and has 240 pages total.

The foreword is written by Małgorzata Czyńska, journalist, art historian and author of many widely read books in this field, exhibition curator. The book also includes five additional texts written by other authors: Gaja Grzegorzewska (novelist, crime and sci-fi writer), Bela Komoszyńska (composer, author of texts and vocalist in the Sorry Boys group), Łukasz Orbitowski (essayist, fantasy and horror writer) and Nikodem Rozbicki (actor, musician). The fifth text was written by me, Joanna. All of them come from the catalogs of my solo art shows that took place at the Artemis Gallery in Krakow.

The entirety of the album was masterfully designed by Jarek Obważanek (Dymkołamacze), one of the best comic book and book designers on the Polish market.

How to get the new artbook?

1. Find us on Kickstarter. Make sure you don’t miss the start of the campaign.
2. If you never used Kickstarter before you will need to create account first.
3. Once you have an account you can choose the option suitable for you on the page dedicated to our project. You can pledge to get a digital or printed book. Or you can choose a book with one (or more) of the rewards we prepared for our backers. For those curious about the rewards I’ve prepared this subpage: New artbook. As Kickstarter page has its limitations I wanted you to be able to see the rewards in a bigger resolution.
4. Once you chose the prefered option stay with us 🙂 We will send you regular updates about the project. There will be some informative posts from the Publisher and some about the content of the artbook – from me. It’s a perfect moment to share some stories about the Anubis series with you 🙂
5. Once the campaign is over – the book will be published and send to you. We predict that if everything goes right you can hold it in your hands in February 2024.

What about the reprint of first volume?

We have the news for those who missed the first volume of “Anubis. Thin Places”. Many of you have been asking us to bring back this book, already unavaliable on sale. Together with our backers we will try to reach the goal that will make the reprint possible.
